No Windy City Ice batter was able to locate Andie's pitches during the game. Andie threw a no-hitter, striking out 11 batters and walking four while recording her momentous feat. She got Camya Moser to strike out for the final out of the game. Maia Clifford had a hot bat for Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach. Maia went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the second and fourth innings. The game was never in doubt after the second, as Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach scored five runs on three singles. Friday was a day Maia Clifford will set aside for the scrapbook as Maia threw a no-hitter in Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach's 9-3 victory over Blue Wave 9U. No Blue Wave 9U batter was able to locate Maia's pitches during the game. Maia threw a no-hitter, striking out four batters and walking 11 while recording her momentous feat. She got Alyssa Chada to strike out for the final out of the game. The biggest inning for Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach was the third. In the inning Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach scored five runs. Lauren Salerno reached base two times in the game for Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach. She singled in the first inning. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on a groundout by Alyssa Schroeder and an RBI single by Meredith Olef. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach answered Blue Wave 9U's top inning with two runs of its own in the fourth. Bordertown Bandits outdone by Andie Broniewicz and Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach, 6-1 Andie Broniewicz went 3-3 at the plate, helping Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach to a 6-1 victory over Bordertown Bandits on Saturday at Dome at Rosemont. She singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings. Alyssa Schroeder baffled Bordertown Bandits, striking out eight batters. Alyssa allowed no earned runs on two hits and no walks over five innings. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring three runs on a groundout by Ally Pavlich and two singles. Bordertown Bandits managed to score one run in the fifth inning on a groundout by Gabby Debevic. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach tacked on another two runs in the sixth. Megan Witzke leads Wheatland Spikes to 15-1 win over Oak Lawn Gems 10U
A great effort by Megan Witzke led Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach to a 15-1 win in five innings over Oak Lawn Gems 10U on Saturday at Dome at Rosemont. Megan rocked Oak Lawn Gems 10U with two home runs. Megan went 2-3 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Megan homered in the third and fifth innings. The offense exploded for the Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach in the third. Oak Lawn Gems 10U had no answer as Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach scored nine runs. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach hit four home runs in the win. Home runs for Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach came when Andie Broniewicz homered in the third inning, Morgan Bond homered in the fourth inning, and Megan homered in the third and fifth innings. It didn't take long for Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach to answer as it scored one run of its own in the fourth. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach scored on a solo home run by Morgan. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach added five more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Andie kicked things off with a single, bringing home Alyssa Schroeder. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach fell 4-0 to Chicago Fireworks as Caroline Kinsella threw a no-hitter on Sunday at Dome at Rosemont. No Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach batter was able to locate Caroline's pitches during the game. Caroline threw a no-hitter, striking out 13 batters and walking one. She got Ally Pavlich to strike out for the final out of the game. Chicago Fireworks never trailed after scoring one run in the second on an RBI double by Lily Natelson.
