2015 11U Wheatland Spikes Tryout Dates Announced!!!

The current 10U team will be moving up to become the 2014-2015 11U Wheatland Spikes. The Wheatland Spikes are a full-time travel fastpitch softball team based out of Aurora, IL.

August 7th  6:00 pm Registration/Sign In begins at 5:30

August 8th  Make Up Date

2014 10U Highlights...

In 2014 the 10U Wheatland Spikes exceeded all expectations by posting a record of 39 -17 competing against 10UA and 10UB.

 

  • Practice with ASA Hall of Fame Coach Margie Wright

  • Practiced and played in multiple Fall practice games

  • Practiced 2/3 days per week over the Winter/Spring at the Spike's Training Center and at local High Schools

  • Played 50+ Spring/Summer games

  • Played in a combination of Round Robins, Tournaments, and Scrimmage games.

  • Tournament record of 33-7.

    • 3rd Place - March 2014 - USSSA 10U Rumble in Rosemont

    • 1st Place - May 2014 - ASA  Lisle Slammers Memorial Day Tournament

    • 1st Place - June 2014- ASA Downers Grove "Battle of the Bats"

    • 2nd Place - June 2014 - Yorkville Father's Day Tournament

    • 1st Place - June 2014 - USSSA 10U Geneva Firecracker National Invitational

    • 7th Place - ASA 10U Chicago Metros 

    • 3rd Place - All Sactioned 10U World Series in Columbus, OH 

 

2015 11U Preliminary Plans...

We have very high expectations for the 2015 11U Wheatland Spike's season. In 2015 we plan on playing the majority of tournaments locally.

 

Here are some of our Preliminary plans for the 2015 11U season...

  • Practice and play in the Fall of 2014. Practice Games, Round Robins and a couple of Fall Tournaments.

  • Practice 2/3 days per week over the Winter into the Spring with some stretches of breaks

  • Play in a Winter Tournament

  • Play 60+ Spring/Summer games including at least 7 Spring/Summer Tournaments

  • Possibly play in a 12U league, possibly SWS or IPL

  • Play tournaments primarily in 12U ASA and 11U/12U USSSA

  • Play 1, possibly 2 Spring/Summer tourneys that require an overnight stay (besides the World Series)

  • Play either the USSSA 11U State Championships or the 12U ASA Metro

  • Attend either USSSA 11U World Series or the ASA 12U B Northern Nationals

  • Continue working on fundamentals, learning, competing, and having alot of fun!!!
