Chloe S helps Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach down Stateline Thunder 6-2

Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach beat Stateline Thunder 6-2 in seven innings on Sunday behind Chloe Smiley, who went 2-2.

She singled in the fourth and sixth innings. Andie Broniewicz handled Stateline Thunder's lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Andie allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks over 6 2/3 innings. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach went up for good in the first, scoring one run on an RBI single by Andie. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach added three more runs in the bottom of the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Maia Clifford singled, plating Chloe. That was followed up by Alyssa Schroeder's single, scoring Gracie Vlach and Maia. After pushing across one run in the top of the fourth, Stateline Thunder faced just a 4-1 deficit. A groundout by Kara Erdman triggered Stateline Thunder's comeback. The Stateline Thunder threat came to an end when Andie finally got Lauren McCartney to ground out. One run in the top of the fifth helped Stateline Thunder close its deficit to 4-2. A sacrifice fly by Reese Coon gave Stateline Thunder life. Finally, Andie got Payton Meier to strike out to end the threat. After a quick strike from Stateline Thunder, Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach responded with two runs in the fifth. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach scored on a two-run single by Meredith Olef.

Early lead gives Wheatland Spikes easy victory over Schererville Shockers, 11-1

Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach beat TBD 11-1 in four innings on Sunday after a 10-run explosion in the second inning.

Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach scored in the second on a two-run single by Olivia Hernandez, a two-run single by Gracie Vlach, a two-run single by Maia Clifford, an RBI single by Andie Broniewicz, a two-run double by Alyssa Schroeder, and an RBI single by Megan Witzke. Maia racked up three RBIs on two hits for Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach. TBD's lineup had no answer for Alyssa. Shockers  managed just two hits off of Alyssa, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out six during her four innings of work.

Maia Clifford surrendered no hits, but Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach still fell to Orland Sparks 7-3 in four innings on Wednesday at Crossroads. Orland Sparks couldn't get anything going so long as Maia was on the hill. Maia held Orland Sparks hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out none. In the top of the first, Orland Sparks grabbed the early lead, 2-0. Kylie Sinal singled to ignite Orland Sparks' offense. Hailey Morsovillo singled, scoring Jessica Galinsky and Kylie.

Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach scored two runs of its own in the first. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach scored on a steal of home by Chloe Smiley and a groundout by Lauren Salerno. The lead stayed with Orland Sparks after the third, when it scored five runs on two singles.

Roselle Rampage couldn't get anything going as long as Ally Pavlich was pitching. Pavlich held Roselle Rampage hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six.

Third-inning rally sparks blowout win for Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach, 7-0

Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach rolled over Windy City Ice 7-0 on Friday at Hassert Field, Cresthill after a four-run rally in the third inning. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach scored in the third on an RBI single by Gracie Vlach, a groundout by Maia Clifford, a groundout by Meredith Olef, and an RBI single by Alyssa Schroeder.

 

Morgan Bond was hot from the plate for Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach. Morgan went 2-2, drove in one and scored two runs. She singled in the third and fourth innings.

 

Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach got the win thanks in large part to Alyssa's dominant, 11-strikeout performance. Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach's pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only one hit.

 

Wheatland Spikes 10U Vlach piled on three more runs in the top of the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Andie singled, bringing home Chloe Smiley to kick things off.
